Description

This group of statues eternalize the Ancient Egyptian family in it's most simple and pure form. We have four statuettes, the largest representing Fifi, the head of the family who was a priest of purification of both Khafre and Menkaure. He is surrounded by his wife Sat-Meret, his son Tesen and his daughter Meretites who are seated to the right and left of their parents. These family statues were arranged in the serdab of Fifi's tomb. The mother and father have stiff bodies supported by a back pillar while the son and daughter sit upright on a backless cube. This nuclear family is meant to reunite in the afterlife.
