This gallery displays several of stone, faience, and
metal vessels types found in Mit Rahina, Luxur, Abydos, Dier el Bahari, Abusir
and Fayum.This gallery also displays collection of foundation
deposite from the tombs of Dier el Bahari, Abu sir, Karnak, Luxur,
lisht and Fayum.
Metal vessels:
Several
of the metal vessel types represent ewers, Jugs, bowls with spout,
bottle and situlaeare
of bronze found in tombs, Dendera, Abusir, el Bersheh, Mit Rahina,
Fayum, Abydos and Luxor.
Situlae:
Several
situlae of bronze or more rarely in stone were an important part
of ancient Egyptian funerary and religious ceremonies .
Tomb painting show situlae being used to pour milk in front of the
coffin as part of the funeral procession and to offer libations to
the gods or spirits of the decessed , situlae appear in tomb and
temple decoration at the end of the Dynasty 18.
Faience
vessels:
Several
bowls, bottles, Jars, goblets of faience.
Both the blue and the white lotus are represented in a series of
faience chalices that are among the most fanciful products of the
New Kingdom ateliers. The Egyptian’s name for the blue – lotus
chalice was the same as for the natural flower “Seshen”.
Lotus chalices were used to drinking and used in temples as for
the ritual of the dead.
Numerous
examples of bowls and dishes are in
Faience. In the New Kingdom a series of attractive blue bowls with
black painted designs apear among the many different objects made
of the blue glazed Faience the scenes inside the bowls shows a
pool with lotus flowers, Fish and papyrus plants several bowls
bear this design. Here are the foundation deposite at tombs of
Saqqara, Abydos, Thebes, Deir el Bahari, Karnak and mit Rahina,
represents knives, hatchets, adzes, chisels, Hoes, axes and saws
all with the name of Thutmosis the third.
